Crock Of Charms Project

Charms is a collection of stories, poems and illustrations by a wide variety of contributors including myself. It is also a fantasy novel in three volumes, though each can stand alone. Sally Odgers is the women behind the concept. And what a terrific idea it is. Each volume is packed full of charming stories just waiting to be read.

Keeper of the Rose is my contribution in Volume 3.
Created with inspiration from this bronze rose charm.

Every charm has a story...
Hannah, Josh, Immy and Ashton meet when their parents form a syndicate to buy and renovate an old house, which they plan to reinvent as a boutique hotel. While the syndicate works downstairs, the children explore the attic, where Immy finds a mysterious treasure; an old bread crock full of metal charms. Who collected them? Why? No one knows, but the crock has its own agenda. Throughout that year, work continues on the house and the crock reveals its stories. More secrets await as Hannah, the eldest, tries to discover more about the family that lived in the house. Volume One tells the story of the first week in the attic, and offers stories for younger readers.

In the second volume of Charms, the crock and the children are back, and the world of the stories is set to expand, revealing more of the house’s past. There's a surprise in store for them all, and especially for Hannah. Volume Two contains stories, poems and pictures most suitable for mid-grade readers.

In the third volume of Charms, the crock and the children are back. A problem threatens the syndicate and there are new adventures as Josh and Hannah go beyond the curtain to enter the world of the stories. Volume Three contains stories, poems and pictures most suitable for older readers. Keeper of the Rose can be found in this volume.
